Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony

The Big Design Market is deeply honoured to welcome Murrundindi, the Ngurungaeta (head man) and elder of the Wurundjeri tribe, who will perform a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country outside the Royal Exhibition Building each day. Accompanied by the live sounds of the Didgeridoo, this moving ceremony acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land and sets the tone for a meaningful and inclusive event.
The Smoking Ceremony will begin 15 minutes prior to opening each day:

• Friday 29 November, 10:45am
• Saturday 30 November, 9:45am
• Sunday 1 December, 9:45am

We invite you to join us for this special moment of connection and reflection as we pay our respects to the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, on whose land this event takes place.
