Exhibitor terms & conditions
THE BIG DESIGN MARKET MELBOURNE
PAYMENT TERMS
- If your application is successful, you will be invoiced for the full amount.
- A non-refundable 25% deposit is payable within 14 days, to secure your stand.
- Payment can be made via EFT or credit card (no Amex). (Payment details will be included on your tax invoice).
- The balance of your invoice will be due 3 months prior to the event.
- Payments are not interchangeable or transferrable between this event and other events by The Big Design Group.
CANCELLATIONS
- Cancellation more than 60 days prior to the event will incur a 25% charge.
- Cancellation less than 60 days before the event will not receive a refund or partial refund, regardless of whether your stand can be filled or not.
INSURANCE
$10 million Public Liability Insurance is compulsory. If you have your own insurance, a copy of your certificate of currency (valid at the time of the event) must be supplied. If you do not have Public Liability Insurance, you can purchase it for this event through The Big Design Group.
PARTICIPATION
STAND BOUNDARY AND DISPLAY LIMITATIONS
- Products and displays must not exceed 2.18mH along backing walls and 1.7mH along sides and in all other parts of the stand. If any exhibitor exceeds these height limitations, they will be required to remove or resize the oversized items to fit the correct specifications before being permitted to trade. Exhibitors who fail to comply will not be permitted to trade and will not receive a refund.
- Exhibitors must present their stands to a high standard at all times. If you are using a custom walling system please ensure the reverse side of all partitioning walls are finished to a high standard so as not to impact on your neighbour. Reverse sides of walls are to be finished in a clean white surface.
- Storage of your goods should be managed inside your stand boundary or consolidated neatly in the designated storage areas to ensure a clean and tidy event for all.
- Any display materials/products attached to the backing wall must not exceed 5kg. The backing wall cannot be used as a load-bearing device or as a support structure. Exhibitors who fail to comply will not be permitted to trade and will not receive a refund.
- Stand designs must allow for you and your staff to enter and exit via the front of your stand. Side access is not guaranteed, for example, you may be located within a row of stands with neighbours either side of you.
- Only 4mW x 4mD and 4mW x 3mD stands are guaranteed 3 sides to trade from. All other stand sizes are guaranteed frontage only (1 side). End of aisle stands will be curated by The Big Design Group.
- Designers are not permitted to use their stands for clearance sales. Stands displaying signage or promoting their offering predominately as a "discount sale" will not be permitted to trade. Large "sale" banners and discount bins/open cardboard boxes are not permitted. Our commitment is to produce a premium event that will benefit all exhibitors.
TRADING HOURS
Exhibitors must be set up and ready to trade by 10.00am each day. Exhibitors must not pack up or leave before close of trading each day.
If you have sold out of stock, you are still required to be present at your stand for the duration of the event.
PRODUCT APPROVAL
Any new products/brands introduced after applications have been assessed must be submitted to The Big Design Group for approval no later than 6 weeks prior to the event. The Big Design Group reserves the right to refuse the addition of new products if they do not comply with curatorial requirements.
SUB-LEASING
Exhibitors are not permitted to share their stand with another brand or sub-let their stand to third parties. The Big Design Group reserves the right to ask exhibitors to remove any unapproved brand items and signage.
FLOORPLAN CURATION
The Big Design Group will curate the floorplan. By accepting a stand in the form of paying a deposit, you agree to be positioned anywhere within the venue. Stand location requests will be considered but there is no guarantee that they will be granted.
LIABILITY
Exhibitors responsible for damaging the heritage listed venue will be liable to pay the venue for repairs. The Big Design Group is not responsible for theft or damage of any products, displays or personal belongings brought to the venue. Exhibitors will need to take due care to prevent injury and property damage.
RUBBISH REMOVAL
Removal of rubbish left at the venue by exhibitors will be charged at $300 per cubic metre.
DATABASE
All applicants for The Big Design Market will be added to The Big Design Market visitor and designer databases. You can unsubscribe at any time.
