Sydney: Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park
The Royal Hall of Industries (RHI) is a well known venue in the heart of Sydney, located between Surry Hills and Paddington, next door to the Hordern Pavilion and the Sydney Cricket Ground. The building is fully air-conditioned and has 3,000 free parking spaces for shoppers.
Melbourne: Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton Gardens
The Royal Exhibition Building (REB) is a World Heritage listed building, centrally located in the Carlton Gardens next to Melbourne Museum. The venue is easily accesible by public transport and has ample parking within the Museum carpark.
ABOUT THE BIG DESIGN MARKET
Since its launch in December 2012 The Big Design Market has brought together leading independent designers and design retailers from Australia and overseas. The Melbourne event attracts capacity crowds to the Royal Exhibition Building each year with over 50k shoppers coming through the doors in 2016. The inaugural Sydney 2016 event garnered strong support from Sydney shoppers which is anticipated to reach capacity attendance, as Melbourne did proceeding it's launch year.
It's the ultimate Christmas shopping destination for those who value original design and ethical production across homewares, textiles, fashion, stationery, lifestyle products and kids toys, provides a great platform for independent design businesses to launch new brands as well as showcase new ranges within existing brands.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
The Big Design Market invites independent designers and design retailers of fashion, jewellery, homewares, furniture, textiles, lighting, fine art, stationery, books, lifestyle products and kids toys to apply for a stand.
The Big Design Market is seeking applications from designers whose products are contemporary and original with a high standard of presentation. The selection committee gives preference to applicants whose products are created using sustainable and/or local materials along with ethical manufacturing methods. Applicants launching new products and those who are not seen regularly at other markets are highly regarded.
Both the Sydney and Melbourne events are curated and as such each application will be assessed individually.
